NEWS AT NOON KATE:BUT FIRST WE BEGIN WITH A CONSUMER ALERT..THAT COULD AFFECT YOUR LUNCH…THE U.S. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION SAYS FROZEN TUNA SOLD IN TEXAS, CALIFORNIA AND OKLAHOMA AREA STORES ARE BEING RECALLED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HEPATITIS A CONTAMINATION. THAT TUNA WAS SOLD AT A CENTRAL MARKET LOCATION OFF NORTH LAMAR.IT WAS ALSO SOLD TO SYSCO FOODS CENTRAL TEXAS WHICH DISTRIBUTES FOOD TO RETAILERS. THIS BEGAN WHEN THE HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH NOTIFIED THE FDA THAT A SAMPLE OF FROZEN TUNA CUBES FROM INDONESIA TESTED POSITIVE FOR HEPATITIS A VIRUS – A CONTAGIOUS LIVER DISEASE.THE FDA WANTS CONSUMERS WHO THINK THEY MAY HAVE GOTTEN SICK FROM EATING THE TAINTED FISH TO IMMEDIATELY CONTACT YOUR LOCAL
