In this video, we’ll show you how to fill
in an Air Waybill. An Air Waybill is also referred to as a consignment
note, dispatch note or waybill. It provides key information about the shipment
for the carrier. It’s also used for tracking the shipment. This document is a binding agreement between
you and the carrier. So it’s important the details are clear
and accurate. When completing an Air Waybill, it’s best
to type the information so it’s clear and easy to read. If you need to handwrite the Air Waybill,
make sure the details are legible on all copies. That way your carrier can ensure a smooth
delivery. First, fill in the date, your account number,
company name, phone number, complete address and VAT or tax ID. If you have a different collection address,
include it. Make sure the Air Waybill and all other documents
are ready at the pickup address. Now you can add your receiver’s name, phone
number, full address and their tax ID number. If there is a different delivery address, make sure you include the full address and contact details. Post office addresses are acceptable only
in a few countries. If it’s an international shipment, include
a goods description, value and HS code. If you’re shipping dangerous goods, this
must be declared on the Air Waybill. In the shipment information section, enter the number of packages, the type of package, the weight and dimensions. Next, select the shipping service. There are usually multiple options to choose
from such as next day delivery, before 10am delivery or Saturday service. Next, fill in the billing section. This outlines who is paying the carrier freight
charges. If you’re handling the shipment, add your
account number. If the receiver is paying, add their account
number. Make sure you have their permission to do
this. Last but not least, the Air Waybill must be
signed by a company representative. And that’s how you fill in an Air Waybill. Thanks for watching! Explore The Shipping Channel for more videos.
