IT’S A YOUNG CHILD IN A HOODIE. IT’S THE WORDING THAT HAS PEOPLE UPSET. ERIN LOGAN WITH THE STORY. Reporter: IT LOOKS LIKE AN ADORABLE LITTLE BOY WITH A HOODED SWEATSHIRT, BUT IT’S CAUSING A LOT OF CONTROVERSY. THE CHARGE? THE WRITING ON IT IS RACIALLY INSENSITIVE. SO INSENSITIVE, THE STAR, THE WEEKEND, SAID HE WILL NO LONGER WORK WITH THE COMPANY. ”I WOKE UP THIS MORNING SHOCKED AND EMBARRASSED BY THIS PHOTO. I’M DEEPLY OFFENDED.” SHOPPERS ARE ALSO SOUNDING OFF. IT’S OFFENSIVE, IT IS, BUT THEY HAVE TO UNDERSTAND FROM OTHER VIEWS HOW IT WILL BE PORTRAYED. THAT’S NOT THE BEST THING THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE. I AGREE, YEAH. I GUESS SOME PEOPLE COULD TAKE IT OFFENSIVELY. Reporter: DO YOU? I DON’T, PERSONALLY. Reporter: THOSE WHO NOTICED IT SUNDAY CERTAINLY DID, SOUNDING OFF ON TWITTER, MODELS OF DIVERSITY, HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THIS BE? SHAME ON YOU. NEW YORK TIMES SAYING HAVE YOU LOST YOUR — MINDS? H&M SAID THE HOODIE WILL NO LONGER BE SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES, AND THE AD HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM ALL ONLINE CHANNELS IN AN E-MAIL SENT TO CBS, THEY SAID WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THIS IMAGE. WE BELIEVE IN DIVERSITY AND CONCLUSION IN ALL THAT WE DO, AND WE WILL BE REVIEWING THE INTERNAL ROUTINES. Reporter: WE WANTED TO HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERTS, HOW BAD IS THIS FOR THE COMPANY? HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER? THEY MADE A MISTAKE, AND THEY HAVE APOLOGIZED. ULTIMATELY CONSUMERS WILL FORGET BY THE END OF THE WEEK. Reporter: THE MANHATTAN- BASED 5WP.R. SAYS IT WAS A STUPID MISTAKE, LIKELY STARTING WITH THE REVIEW BOARD. THERE’S A CHIEF QUALITY OFFICER WHO SHOULD SIGN OFF ON THESE THINGS. AGAIN, THERE’S THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF ITEMS FOR SALE. IT COULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN OVERLOOKED. IF YOU’RE JUST LOOKING AT THE IMAGE, NOT READING THE SHIRT, IT’S OVERLOOKED. Reporter: IT’S NOT THE FIRST AND WON’T BE THE LAST MISTAKE FOR A HUGE COMPANY DOING BUSINESS ALL OVER THE WORLD. IN TIMES SQUARE, ERIN LOGAN, TV 1055.

  1. This isn´t racist in the least. The metaphor is so evident to people who can see it. Blacks again are pulling the race card in order to get something free. As for me, I will go to H &m and buy the clothes as I always do. Grow up you, black racist idiots.

  2. Look it’s not racist, in fact the people saying it’s racist are racist for even thinking about it like that! If my child was black or white I would still put that shirt on them , this needs to stop ✋ people are making drama for absolutely no reason…

  3. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but do you think that if the boy was white the ad wouldn't be as racist? How is thinking so not racist then?

  4. But black people don’t have a problem wearing BAPE which stands for A Bathing Ape. Smh… where’s the logic?
