Hey Ezra back with you and in this video,
we are going to talk about the Facebook pixel because it’s hard to leverage Facebook if
you’re not actually tracking everything that happens on your website inside of Facebook
that’s what pixel does. Pixel has 4 main functions and we are going to be actually
implementing this pixel on to your Shopify store and what’s cool is Shopify has made
it really easy for you and I’ll show you that in the next video but for now our main
functions are conversion tracking so you can see how successful your advertisement is by
seeing what happened as a direct result of your advertisement. Optimization so you can
automatically bid for conversions after you set up your pixel for example you can say
Facebook give me more people or put my ad in front of more people who are likely to
convert, or who are likely add a product to a cart so you can tell them to optimize for
the result you want. Remarketing which allows you to, when someone visits your website put
them on a Facebook audience list and then send them another ad if they don’t buy.
So, someone visits your offer page they stick around for a while but they don’t make a
purchase you can actually follow up with them and send them another advertisement saying
don’t forget about my product and you do that by leveraging the Facebook pixel. Then
there is look alike creations so you can use the Facebook pixel to create new customers
an audience of new customers who are similar to who have already shopped from you or been
on your website and added a product to the cart and I’ll be talking about as we go
into actually setting this up. First, I want to show you the Facebook dashboard and some
of the pixel data that shows up and then in the next video we will go ahead and implement
the pixel on your store. So here I am I’m in the Facebook dashboard for one of my Shopify
stores and I’m on the pixels section. The way I got here was by going to my Facebook
ads manager so that’s just facebook.com/ads/manage and once I got in here I selected from tools
list under assets I selected pixels. And you can see here I’ve got all this data going
on of how many times pixel was fired, I can see different events someone viewed a content
or if I scroll down someone added product to the cart we can see that this is in the
7 days here so someone added a product to the cart 16,000 times in the last 7 days,
I had 9000 purchases so I had 9000 people actually buy from my store in the last 7 days.
The reason that’s so high is we are actually running a sale promotion right now. I can
see the URLs or the domains that this is firing on so there’s pixels firing on boombycindyjoesph.com
and I can see a bunch of data about my pixel and something that’s even cooler is when
we dig into pixel data we can actually see what products people viewed and things like
that, we will get into that later. For now that’s what the Facebook pixel does that’s
why it’s imperative to implement it on your Shopify store so meet me in the next video
